Two Little Fishes

I was walking along in Tropicana City, KL one day when..

Wow, Interesting.

Well it's not a hot babe but rather this:

Looks like it's not just our mobile phones or the way we book a flight ticket are evolving with the times. Even with keeping pet fishes, someone came up with a novel concept. Calling themselves 'Two Little Fishes', these guys have made the approach to rearing ornamental fishes relatively easy, novel and compact.

In the above pic, those bags with water, each contains a fish and there are myriad to choose from; Tetra's, Bettas (fighting fish), Guppies, Albino algae eaters etc. And those decked out at the front are the base sand (blue, red black, natural etc), types of rocks, plants and props nicely packed into neat sizes.

Ok, I got sold and bought a 'package'. Not expensive; about RM1xx. The packaging is well thought out that it is good enough even as a present/gift pack.

So in the standard package; you'll get a tank (a few size choices but all mini) packed complete with the plant/sand/rock deco of your choice, a lamp and the pump filter.  Also included are clear graphical instructions and even a helpline:

The quality of the tank is pretty good. Unlike the good quality but scratchable acrylic types that we see selling in aquarium shops, the ones here are of high quality glass; one main U-shaped front piece (giving rounded corners) sealed to the blackened back and bottom pieces. These are handmade themselves by the people behind the business.

The filter pump is also of good quality with easily removable and washable carbon filter sponges and there are even o-rings at each joint segment of the intake tube. This device ensures that the water in the tank is constantly crylstal clear. The lamp has a long-life switch-on everyday bulb and clamps easily to the back pane.

As part of the concept, all accessories are also neatly packaged. In this picture below the white round tablets are 'holiday' food that supposedly releases food for up to 10 days (for this tank size) and the other pack contains the pre-measured necessary water additives (anti-chlorine, anti-bacterial, ph balancer etc) for first time water fill and for each water change. Water change is recommended to be performed once a month.

So ya, the set-up is pretty easy then; find a good spot to place the tank, hook the filter, tighten the lamp, mix the additives and fill-up the water. Next is just to introduce the fish that you have selected (instruction provided as earlier pic). In this case I fancied a blue-red Betta. And my final set-up looked like that:

Yay! Nice right?

Now as aptly in line with the theme of Two Little Fishes, It is optimal that not more than 2 fishes are recommended to ensure that the crystal clear water can be maintained. But I added 2 mini Cherry Shrimps and one 'DBKL' fish. Should be ok, I hope.. *fingers crossed*

It is evident that Two Little Fishes had aesthetics in mind in their concept. The high quality glass, nice water deco and constant crystal clear waters certainly provided a new dimension as a decor to my living room. (I happen to be an ID freak, sorry.) An additional interesting element to my shelf items. heh.

And at night..

Ahh, not just aesthetic, therapeutic as well..

And I just had to get another for my SG home:

Two Little Fishes actually has a website, http://www.2littlefishes.com/ but it is unfortunately not ready yet. Do check it out in a few months time but if you really need to get a set quickly you can find them at Tropicana City, IOI Mall and Sunway Pyramid.

Additionally, from my conversation with them, it seems that their main business is actually in breeding fishes and this concept is just a 'test'. They will ramp it up into another branch of revenue if the concept is proven to be sellable . I think it would do well, especially in places like Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan where dwellings are generally small and cannot afford big aquarium tanks. I am already asking them for a franchise for Singapore as I have not seen anything like that in SG. Anybody else wants to co-invest? heh.

Of Charms and Spells - Spellbox

It could for sinister intentions or it could be to heal. Spell and charms have been regularly used without many of us knowing. The sudden sickness, the unexplained changed of mind or the unexpected change of interest of your lover towards you could be the result of this practise. Well, since this world had been such an unfair place, I think many of you reading this would probably sprout a relief and asks, 'Really, where can I get/acquire/learn some of this stuff'.  Well I shall pretend that most of us just want to know more so as to be able to find the same unworldly powers to be able to fend, protect of just to Get What we Want!!

Hidden amongst the quaint shops in Royal Arcade off Bourke Street there you will find this place:-

Once you step inside..

Not believing that it is a mere coincidene, I find it mystical that it is located in the exact heart center of Melbourne City. Already it is strange that there is such a place dwelling in ancient practise to be found in the modern and thriving part of the city.

Anyway, here's some examples of what you can get. mystical objects or 'Magic Tools' each with their own applications and effects when placed and used accordingly.

Spells, with instructions provided:-

More spells..

I know of a few mates who may get some help with this. PKJ, AC, JP you want? Heh.

Potions:

Tools for the more experienced with blood expected to be drawn..

Or if you are not sure what you need, the Wheel of Stars is there to help.

For those who are serious about taking up Witchery as a career, 'The Broom' is also avaliable to complete the picture. For examples of how 'The Broom' can be utilised, please watch Harry Porter, any of the enactments will do. Heh.

In keeping up with trend of advancements of civilisation, the ancient practises can also be found through the circuits of the world wide web. Just key in the following words carefully in the space just below the lid of your screen: http://www.spellbox.com.au/. Please do not hold me responsible if something out of the ordinary happens to you after that. *sinister laugh*

*casting spell* while signing off. Heheh..

By the way, the above photos are taken with the Samsung EX1. Excellent in low light situations with its bright F1.8.

Firefly: Splendid Views of KL

After numerous messing-up of timing with taking the bus, I decided to give Firefly a try for the regular trips I have to make to KL. Small are the turboprop ATRs, with two columns of two seater rows, they seat about 40 pax max. The hotness of the stewardess's are nothing to shout about but the service is good with a juice and muffin served. They ply between the Changi Budget terminal and Subang Skypark Terminal which is a  boon for me in terms of time saved and distance to and fro TTDI as compared to treacherously far-away long journey KLIA or the even worse LCCT.

Check out the views from the plane as the ATR approaches KL. These were taken at about 10am. The usually towering Petronas Twin Towers looks like a kids miniature building play-set here.

And here is the view of Mont Kiara and Seri Hartamas. A beer on me if you can spot Soho KL at MK Solaris. Heh.

So looks like its Firelfy for my KL-SG trips from now on. The view when descending into Singapore is very pretty too. Watch this space for those pics.
